Aizome-藍染

Aizome-藍染

Aizome (Japanese indigo)
Indigo is considered to have been the first dye used in the world. Japanese indigo is also very popular outside of Japan, and is known by the name "Japan Blue." Made from fermented indigo leaves(Sukumo), Japanese indigo has developed in a way that is unique among all indigo dyes. Items dyed with natural indigo are resistant to fading. Natural indigo also offers a variety of other benefits, including compounds that repel insects.
Aizome is one of the KUON’s most popular and basic items.
In our 2017A/W collection, we have dyed corduroy items with Aizome.
The uneven surface of corduroy and hand-dyed Aizome makes the beautiful gradation which could not be expressed in the mass-production.
You can also enjoy the set-up of the collarless jacket and pant.
