50年前までデニム生地は日本では生産されておらず、アメリカから生地を輸入していました。 そんな中、100年以上の歴史を持つ児島の紡績会社がデニム生地の開発に取り組み国産初のデニム生地を完成させました。KUONはその会社のデニムを使用しております。 米綿を主原料とし紡績により自然のムラのリング糸を使用。 染色はピュアインディゴでロープ染色を採用。電解水を使用することで工場排水の削減、ボイラー使用によるCO2の削減を促進するエコ染色を行っております。

About 50 years ago a spinning company successfully wove the first domestically produced denim fabric in Japan. It is now considered one of the best quality fabrics in the world. This season KUON's denim is woven from ring spun yarns of American cotton, which produces a natural surface unevenness. The denim industry has long had a high environmental impact, but currently the industry is working to reduce its negative effects. The fabric is colored with a pure indigo rope dyeing technique, which allows for significant reductions in CO2 emissions from boiler use.
